Classical Guitarist Nilko Andreas Guarin has been praised as an “electrifying performer for his powerful stage presence and spontaneity that grows irresistible”. Since his Carnegie hall debut in 2009 performing with the “Azlo Orchestra”, (an orchestra founded by him and dedicated to perform repertoire for guitar and orchestra), Nilko Andreas has been captivating audiences in two continents as a soloist and chamber musician. Awarded several awards including "The Recognition Award" by the city of New York for his contributions to the Arts. Born in Colombia Nilko Andreas has great interest for the composers of Latin America, constantly commissioning and premiering new works. He has given master classes at the Mannes guitar seminar in NY, Brazil, France and Colombia; He has recorded music with multi-platinum artists and composed music for films, theater and solo artists, His score for silent film “Pancho Villa’s Revenge” was celebrated at the world-renowned Flaherty Film Seminar. In the year 2005, his collaboration with award-winning theatre group Artificio, in Federico García Lorca’s “The Butterfly’s Evil Spell”, won him several honors, awards and rave reviews. Upcoming engagements include European tour with Austrian Violist Firmian Lermer during the 2012 season and concerts in Brazil with Mariuccia Iacovino Symphonic orchestra and soprano Angelica de la Riva, and solo concerts in Colombia, Austria, Switzerland as well as Performing at Carnegie Hall with the Azlo Orchestra in NYC in 2012.
